The Bell Center
Chorus Program
Broadway Kids...
The goals of Broadway Kids (ages 6 to 9) focus on performing, stage presence and confidence. Students will learn
songs appropriate for their age and ability in a group setting. There will be opportunities to learn solo songs and present them in a final show.
By practicing coordinated movements and expressions, singers will learn balance and presentation. These skills are the building blocks for adult
skills such as public speaking, job interviewing, and overall self confidence.
9 weeks
Cost: $150.00

Youth Opera Workshop...
Established in 2003 under the direction of Melissa Manseau, the
Bell Center Youth Opera Workshop (Ages 12-18) introduces young singers to the
power, passion and drama of popular operas. The workshop students perform both
opera scenes and fully staged and costumed productions. Through outreach
performances in schools, festivals, and elderly and assisted living facilities,
the youth opera workshop continues to inspire audiences of all ages to enjoy the
comedy and drama of opera. These talented young singers are challenged to learn
music in both English and in foreign languages, and to communicate the meaning
through acting. In addition, students have an opportunity to sing alongside
professional opera singers and guest singers from local colleges. Founder and
director Melissa Manseau is an active professional opera singer pursuing
auditions, lessons and performances both regionally and abroad. The workshop has
worked with three pianists. Minako Merritt, who also teaches piano at the Bell
Center, Steven Morris of Boston Vocal Artists, and Bell Center director Kathy
Fink.
